CIPD Certificate / Diploma in Learning and Development Practice (Flexible Learning)

Who are these programmes aimed at?

The Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Practice are aimed at Human Resource Officers, Advisors and Administrators and those who are just beginning a career in HR or have experience at this level and wish to achieve an accredited qualification.

What is the difference between the Certificate and Diploma?

Both programmes consist of a range of core and optional units. Each unit carries a number of credits. Core units are the same for both the Certificate and Diploma. lf you wish to study for the Diploma, you will complete more optional units than you would for the Certificate.

To achieve the Certificate in Human Resource Practice, you need to have 28 crediis. 10 credits from the core units and 18 credits from the optional units. Optional units must include a minimum of 12 credits from Group A and a maximum of 6 credits is allowed from Group B.

To achieve the Diploma in Human Resource Practice you need to have 37 credits. 10 credits from the core units and 27 credits from the optional units. Optional units must include a minimum of 21 credits from Group A and a maximum of 6 credits is allowed from Group B.

How do we deliver the programme?

We offer the Certificate and Diploma programmes on a flexible basts. You will be allocated an Assessor to work with you throughout. To achieve the units you will undertake a range of activities including gathering work-based evidence, completing assignments, and knowledge statements; there are no exams to take.

As part of the programme, we will also support you in undertaking assessment for membership of the CIPD at Associate level, if appropriate.

What is the duration of the programme?

You will have up to 12 months, but you can complete more quickly if you wish.

Where will I meet with my Assessor?

Usually at your workplace, but meetings can also be at an alternative location. You may also have 'virtual' meetings by phone, email or Skype. You will have an initial induction meeting and then up to 6 meetings or 'virtual' meetings for the Certificate programme and up to 8 for the Diploma.

You will also be required to take up Student membership of the CIPD for which there is an additional cost.

How ean I progress further?

On completion of your qualification you will be offered the opportunity to complete one of our Intermediate or Advanced Postgraduate qualifications in Human Resource Development.
