The Award, Certificate and Diploma programmes in Human Resource Practice are aimed at Human Resource Officers, Advisors and Administrators and those who are just beginning a career in HR or have experience at this level and wish to achieve an accredited qualification. The programmes are also suitable for those wishing to move into the HR profession, as long as they have access to their own or another organisation’s current HR policies and procedures.

There are no specific entry requirements, other than the need to be working within HR or to have access to HR policies and procedures within an organisation.

What you have to do to complete the Diploma in HRP...

The programme consists of a range of Core and Optional Units. Each Unit carries a number of credits. To achieve the Diploma in Human Resource Practice, you need to have 37 credits.

To achieve the Certificate in Human Resource Practice requires 28 credits.

Foundation Level Diploma in Human Resources Practice = 37 credits.

10 credits from all the core units and 27 credits from the optional units. Your choice of optional units must include a minimum of 21 credits from Group A with a maximum of 6 credits from Group B.

How we deliver the programme...

The programme is delivered through a one to one flexible work-based learning approach.

You will have a Personal Adviser appointed to work on a one to one with you throughout the programme.

Your Adviser will arrange to meet with you on a number of occasions, usually at your workplace, but meetings can also be at an alternative suitable location. You may also have ‘virtual’ meetings by phone, email or Skype. The programme will be designed to meet your specific needs.

To achieve your chosen units you will undertake a range of activities including gathering work-based evidence, completing assignments, a project, knowledge statements and taking part in a professional discussion with your Personal Adviser. There are no exams to take.

You will have up to 12 months to complete the programme, but you can complete in a shorter time if you wish.

Top up your Certificate in Personnel Practice to a Diploma in HR Practice...

If you already have the former CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice, this can easily be topped up to the Diploma in HR Practice.

Your CPP will provide 28 credit exemptions from the total of 37 credits needed to achieve a Diploma in HRP.

To obtain the Diploma in Human Resource Practice you will need to complete the following units:
