On 13th October, our team came together for a dedicated Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) Away Day, providing us with a chance to connect, share experiences, and strengthen our collective commitment to supporting every learner.
Championing Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB)
Throughout the day, we explored what it truly means to create an environment where everyone can thrive. The sessions were filled with collaboration, reflection and inspiration, reminding us of the powerful impact we can have when we share ideas and act together.
We were particularly inspired by the incredible work of Mencap, whose dedication and commitment to inclusion and community serves as a shining example of what can be achieved through teamwork and compassion.
We're also proud to share that we raised £160 for Mencap during the day!
Highlights from the Away Day
Group Discussions
Colleagues shared personal insights and experiences around EDIB and accessibility, sparking meaningful conversations about the practical actions that make a real difference to learners.
Knowledge Bursts
Short, focused presentations and videos deepened our understanding of inclusive practices for learners with diverse needs. These sessions provided valuable ideas we can apply in our day-to-day work.
Inspiring Guest Speaker
We were honoured to hear from Denise Moon from Mencap, whose passion and dedication reminded us of the power of teamwork and compassion to drive meaningful, lasting change.
Looking Ahead
The day reinforced the fact that inclusion is an ongoing journey.
As a team, we are committed to embedding EDIB principles into everything we do, ensuring all our learners feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive during their studies and beyond. Together, we will continue to build a culture where everyone belongs.
