Graduates help HR firm celebrate 10-year-milestone

More than 100 guests and recent graduates joined cHRysos HR to help the company celebrate its 10th anniversary as well as the fourth Celebration of Achievement graduation event.

The double celebration was held on Friday 13 October 2017 at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park with 41 graduates marking the successful completion of a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification in HR or Learning and Development.

The graduates achieved the sought-after accolades after studying at cHRysos HR’s training centre in Doncaster or via one-to-one support in their workplace. The event was extra special this year as it marked a decade since cHRysos HR was founded by Managing Director Julie Gordon.

Julie said: “Our graduation events are always really inspiring and a wonderful reminder about how we help our clients to achieve not just knowledge and qualifications but renewed confidence and enthusiasm in their careers.

“But this year’s Celebration of Achievement graduation was really special because it coincided with our 10th anniversary. I can hardly believe that we developed the idea of a company like cHRysos HR around my dining room table a decade ago and now we’re a thriving business offering professional qualifications and apprenticeships in HR, Learning and Development, Management and Coaching and Mentoring, as well as HR support services to SMEs.

“We’re proud of what we have achieved so this was a great opportunity to raise a glass to our graduates but also to the whole cHRysos HR team. The Prosecco was flowing and we enjoyed anniversary cake too.

“Thank you to everyone who shared this special milestone with us. We’re looking forward to developing the company further and taking on more challenges in the next 10 years.”

At the Celebration of Achievement event graduates received a commemorative scroll from Daphne Doody-Green, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development’s Head of Insights and Engagement for the North.

Guest speakers included Trevor Baker, who talked about living life with no limits. Trevor suffered a life changing spinal injury when he broke his neck, leaving him paralysed. He talked about how he has overcome his disability and limitations and now lives by his moto; ‘Life Rolls On.’

Tony Leake of Positive Changes followed Trevor’s inspiring speech by talking about his belief that people can achieve anything they want to as long as they have the right mind-set.

John Minion, the CEO of Yorkshire Wildlife Park, also talked about their conservation work and the amazing journey the team has had turning Brockholes Farm in Branton into a national tourist attraction.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation, which was established in 2013 as a catalyst for inspiring people to support conservation and animal welfare.

cHRysos HR helped to mark their two milestones by holding a collection for the Foundation, raising £75. All the money raised will help to buy vaccination packs for distemper to treat dogs.

Claire Staines, Head of Learning and Development and HR at Energize in Manchester, attended the event to celebrate passing a CIPD Intermediate qualification in HR Management and a Foundation Certificate in Learning and Development.

She said: “I decided to do my qualifications while also working because I wanted to back up my skills with some certification to make me more employable in the open market. I’d known Julie for six or seven years, so a Google search and my relationship with her led me to cHRysos HR. I did my first certificate while pregnant with my first child and studied for an additional one while pregnant with my second child. I then came back to finish off any loose ends.

“It’s fantastic working with Julie and everyone at cHRysos HR and when they talk about it being a small, family run business, it really is.  They really understand that you need a work life balance so they go at your own pace but are also available morning, noon and night if you need them.

“I couldn’t recommend cHRysos HR more and will definitely be back to study with them again.”
